NATURE THERAPY

NATURE THERAPY

experiencing awe again

in person sessions

Essential to a good adventure is a sense of awe; an elemental feeling of wonder that simultaneously grounds and elevates. Studies show that wonder and awe created in the natural world can relieve depression, combat symptoms of PTSD, and decrease inflammation. Nature is an integral part of our adventure…

YET, like in families, our CONNECTIONS with the natural world can get DISRUPTED.

AND, like in families, in a MENDED CONNECTION with the outdoor world WE GROW… just by connecting.

I offer three ways to connect to the natural world within a therapeutic relationship: walk-and-talk therapy, connection walks, and community connection walks.

WALK-AND-TALK Therapy

Walking therapy helps just by being outdoors, but includes the simultaneous benefit of movement. Sessions take place at various parks in the area and last an hour.

Connection Walks

With roots in forest bathing, and counseling theory, the aim of a connection walk is to develop personal insight in and with an environment that is intrinsically healing… the natural world. Additionally, I am happy to meet outside for a talk-and-walk session.

COMMUNITY CONNECTION WALK

Community Connection Walks offer an emphasis on stress relief, with an opportunity to connect with others in a natural setting. All walks will be held in areas local to the Upstate and are offered as a stand alone service, or in conjunction with other offerings.
